This is no ordinary ring. Decades of war have left Cambodia’s farmlands littered with brass casings from bombs, bullets and landmines. The metal that remains, is collected to be transformed into a symbol of resilience and healing. Artisans fashion these brass casings into jewelry pieces that carry messages of hope. This gorgeous and adjustable ring, showcasing a dove of peace at its centre, is a perfect example. Rajana Association in Cambodia is working to rebuild Cambodia’s legacy of creativity and design, nearly lost to decades of war, by training young adults in traditional craft-making skills, and providing employment to producers who lack job opportunities.
