This handcast lotus Tibetan Singing Bowl with a bronze finish is made by artisans in Nepal working with dZi. The lotus symbolizes purity, and when in bloom, enlightenment. Singing bowls have a history going back thousands of years. The bowls also have practical household uses, such as holding water and grains, and may be given as wedding gifts or used as dowry items. Over the last decades, singing bowls have become popularly used in meditation and for relaxation. Accompanies leather-wrapped wood baton.
Pronounced "zee," dZi is the name of a highly valued traditional Tibetan bead believed to bring luck and protection. dZi Inc. was founded in 1990 in Dharamshala, India, trained and worked with Tibetan refugee artisans. Today dZi Inc. includes over 1000 artisans in India and Nepal, helping them develop and market their handicrafts. dZi is a member of the Fair Trade Federation.
