This sturdy Kaisa Grass Basket Bowl is functional for any home decor use or as a gift basket! Kaisa, a wild grass used in Bangladeshi basket-making is a very sturdy grass and dries from a natural light green to a very pale almost tan color.
Hand made by Dhaka Handicrafts, a fair trade company which works with over 1300 artisans, over 90% of which are women. They improve their basket making skills by providing training for quality improvement and product development. They provide a fair income to artisans despite fluctuations in demand, encourage self sufficiency and independence. The wife may become the primary wage earner.
