The Perfectly Imperfect Kantha Scarf is unique in pattern, colour and thread. Frayed edges and patches are all part of the nature of working with vintage cloth and re-creating a new product from old. These scarves may have uneven stitching, or the bottom of the scarf may not be even.
Made from vintage up-cycled saris, artisans place two saris back to back then sew them together with the "Kantha" running stitch, creating a scarf of shawl with a completely different colour and patten on either side.
Marigold Collective partners with women-focused Artisan Cooperatives in developing countries to provide market access for their high quality products. Their goal is to support women in their effort to overcome poverty and being able to provide a sustainable livelihood for their families while preserving heritage craft traditions.
