This textile is produced on hand-operated looms, one of the oldest methods of textile production. Handweaving involves interlinking a set of vertical threads (warp) with a set of horizontal threads (weft,) meticulous planning and complex estimation, depending on the design. In this product, two different yarn colors are used - one in the weft and the other in the warp. Weaving by hand creates a raised texture, which conveys the beauty of handloom weaves and cannot be reproduced on machines.

Sustainable Threads is a group in India that works with low-income communities.
